This week Ribbon Carousel challenged blog readers to create a craft, inspired by peppermint, that incorporates ribbon or twine, etc. Click HERE to get to the challenge blog post. Here is the first card I designed:
I knew I wanted to use this peppermint stripe grosgrain ribbon, but I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do. While I was contemplating design ideas, I was fooling around and started pulling a loose thread. Before I knew it, the end was quite frayed and I immediately thought of a scarf. Snowmen wear scarves, right? Design problem solved. The tricky part was deciding how to attach the scarf. I tried traditional scarf wraps, but they were quite bulky and covered half of the snowman's face. In the end, I tied a simple knot and attached it with Glue Dots.
TIP: The snowman's arms weren't in the right position, so I cut them off and repositioned them. You couldn't even tell, right? :)

I die cut the snowman using my Christmas Cheer Cricut cartridge. I used white glitter paper for the snow and printed glitter paper for the sky. I embellished the snowman with black rhinestones.

Adorable card! The ribbon as the scarf is a nice touch. ^.^
Also, Charlene has a good point. I use Blogger and turned off the security for posts less than 21 days old, and haven't had a problem with spam yet.
