I love making treats to give as gifts during the holidays. Giving a homemade treat in a hand-made box adds an extra special touch.
For my treat container, I opted to make a box that is easy to mass produce. THIS die cut only requires one cut on one piece of 12"x12" paper. You could crank out a bunch of these boxes with your die cut machine in a jiffy. Assembly is quick and easy so even the kids could help out! The box measures 4" on each side, making it a nice size for a personal gift.
I die cut a pair of holly leaves and stamped the greeting, leaving plenty of room to hand-write my name. The stamps are from Avery Elle's Simply Tags: Everyday set. All you need to close the box is a piece of ribbon. (Like the cute papers? They're from Doodlebug's North Pole collection.)
My favorite treat to make during Christmastime is chocolate fudge. Not only is it easy to make, it is always warmly received. You can't go wrong with the gift of chocolate!
3 C granulated sugar
3/4 C butter
2/3 C evaporated milk
12 oz. 60% cacao chocolate chips
7 oz. jar marshmallow cream
1 tsp. vanilla
Directions: In a sauce pan over medium heat, bring sugar, butter and milk to a rolling boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly; remove from heat. Stir in chocolate chips, marshmallow cream, and vanilla. Pour into a greased 11" x 7" pan. Cool to room temperature before slicing. Eat lots.
